I am 16, which is why I am scared. I need to start looking for colleges. I get yelled at by my parents daily for not having a "plan" yet. I am worried because nothing interests me. I have spent weeks digging through the occupational handbook but no job sounds interesting to me. I have looked at a magnitude of degrees but yet again none of them sounds interesting. My parents will not support my decision to go undecided. I need to discover something, but I have no clue what to do.

How about doing something with video games since this is what interests you?

I thought about that but ruled it out because of the following reason
1) Most Video Games Suck
2) I can't do graphics, I am bad with photoshop and drawing.
3) I can't program, I am really poor at math which hinders my ability.
The chances of me working for Arena Net on Guild Wars or Blizzard on World of Wacraft is nearly impossible.

get laid.
sorry, that's not helpful,
anyway, there has to be SOMETHING constructive that interests you. Something that when you finish or while doing makes you feel like you accomplished something. I honestly don't believe you when you say there is NOTHING that interests you.

I have taken
-Engineering Courses (Computer Integrated Manufacturing, Principles Of Engineering)
-Art Courses (Painting, Sculpting)
-Graphic Design Courses
-Wood Working Courses
-Biology
-Earth Sciences
-Chemistry
-History
-Economics
-Politics
-Psychology
None of those interest me. I took an ID tech camp a couple summers ago and designed my own basic video game, which was cool. But then I took the computer science/java electives at my high school and couldn't handle them. I failed my graphics design elective as well. What other jobs are there in the video game industry? Public Relations, Community Manager? Thousands of people are probably applying for those positions. Video Game Tester? The majority of video game testing companies are in California. In California it is not possible to live ok with such insane costs.

Toxage you may have Dysthymia.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dysthymia
I have it and it doesn't show up to people as depression, but medically speaking it is. It's a low grade, long term depression. Maybe go to a doctor and ask if they can test you to see if you have Dysthymia.

If most video games suck, you can get a job as a tester and help make them better.
Other than that, maybe stop posting new threads in forums looking for help from us and talk to your school's Guidance Counselor.

16, I could say that's probably why. Kids your age (I myself, when I was that age) sometimes have that problem, but some years later things pick up and you really find out a lot about yourself, and a discover new things/interests you never knew you had.
So basically your mind is still growing, and maybe you just need some more time.

I honestly believe he's suffering from what I have.
Depressed mood levels. A lack of enthusiasm or excitement for almost anything.
It's very distressing when you can't get excited about anything for long periods of time. And that includes things like entertainment, money, sex or eating. It's like slowly becoming a robot.
Most people don't understand. My friends and family said everyone feels that way and they just live with it, and that brings on guilt because back then I thought that I just couldn't cut it living an average life like everyone else could.

I don't think I am depressed. No, I am sure I am not depressed. I am not sad, or antisocial, or anything like that.
It's just I have difficulty enjoying something after doing it more than once. When I stat something new it seems awesome, but then I get bored with it extremely fast, within a few hours. This happens to me with everything.
I can rarely finish a book, I start it then 20-30 pages in I get bored and stop reading it.. I have resorted to sparknotes since as long as I can remember.
I start a video game play it for 30mins - 1 hour then get bored and stop playing it.
I have started multiple part time jobs, but once again I struggle to even complete one shift of these jobs.
I hear a song love it, but then every time I here the song again, I dislike it more.
I smell a candle, I like it, but then a little bit later I grow sick of it.
I go out with a girl, the date starts out awesome, but then I grow annoyed with said girl, and I am forced to end the date early.
I went out to a dance, started out fine chilling with friends but then I grew bored and left early.
I no clue what is wrong with me, and I very scared. Most jobs seem repetitive in nature, you do similar things over n over. But I can't do things more than once.

Toxage you are describing what I went through at your age. In time it stacks and your mind views everything as boring. I would always say I don't feel sad. But depression isn't sadness. You can't even feel sad when truly depressed. You become more and more empty and distant.
I would really go to a physician and discuss this. You may just have an attention deficit too.
I am no doctor, but please check it out.

seek profession care, coming to us is not the answer---we are not trained to help you....I know what I am talking about as I suffered from depression for a good portion of my life (ok most of it).. it wont go away on its own....you need to get into counseling, etc....PLEASE talk to your parents and tell them you are not feeling well---
it will make you feel better!

Enthusiasm, I lack that a lot, I see people all over the place getting hyped up about things, and here I am going ''Ok?".
And I'm just a Bizznatch, runs in the female side of my family, so that's nothing new.
So in the end I figured the way I am is just my personality, rather than a problem. Though many years ago I did think it was a problem, since deep inside I always felt like I wanted to be opposite (E.g Really nice, loving, caring, enthusiastic, etc.)

Could be a bit of ADD. But in my (non-professional, obviously) experience people with ADD are plenty interested in all sorts of things. They just can't focus on any one thing for longer then 20 minutes.
I'm 21 now, and some of the things I'm interested in now, namely computer science related things, I wasn't interested in back then. Also, around that age I began to get interest in sound tech, running the sound board for live events, concerts. So far that's been limited to sound at my youth group which includes a full band. It remains to be seen which I will pursue as a carreer or just a hobby or what.
